Chocolate Chip Cookie Mix in a Jar!

I love giving chocolate chip cookie mix to family and friends as gifts. Most of the people I know don't have the time to make chocolate chip cookies from scratch. This gift makes it so much easier for them to enjoy the taste of made from scratch cookies in the time it takes to make box cookies. I hope you will find this to be as enjoyable of a gift as I do.

What you will need:
  • 1 quart mason mar
  • 1 3/4 cups all-purpose flour
  • 3/4 teaspoon baking soda
  • 3/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1 1/2 cups (9 ounces) Semi-Sweet Chocolate Chips
  • 3/4 cup packed brown sugar
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
What you will need to do:
In a bowl combine the flour, baking soda, and salt. Pour that mixture into your mason jar. You can add the rest of your ingredients into the jar in any order you wish.

What you will need to include:
On a sheet of paper include the recipe.

PREHEAT oven to 375° F. Beat 3/4 cup (1 1/2 sticks) softened butter or margarine, 1 large egg and 3/4 teaspoon vanilla extract in large mixer bowl until blended. Add cookie mix; mix well, breaking up any clumps. Drop by rounded tablespoon onto ungreased baking sheets. Bake for 9 to 11 minutes or until golden brown. Cool on baking sheets for 2 minutes; remove to wire racks to cool completely. Makes about 2 dozen cookies.

You can also decorate the jar anyway you like. This always makes for a great gift.
